Today we're breaking ground in the nail art world by launching the new OPI Arist Series Design Gels: 24 highly-saturated, single application colors that are designed for limitless creative freedom. The Artist Series Design Gels are making intricate, precision nail art easier than ever before.
OPI Artist Series Design Gels allow you to channel your inner artist and create a multitude of looks and patterns. The gels can be used over OPI GelColor, OPI Axxium gels, or OPI Acrylics, which make it a perfect addition to your salon. The shades can also be mixed to create custom colors and looks for your clients.
The most important step in ensuring client satisfaction and longevity of wear is proper application. Follow the instructions below to make your designer looks last!

Application
Prep nails properly with a FLEX 100/180 Buffer. Dust nails and cleanse with N.A.S. 99 before proceeding to Step 1. For all steps, be sure to always shake the Base Coat, GelColor, and Top Coat for 60 seconds before use. The OPI ProShaker makes it fast and easy to shake up your gels. To prevent bottle tops from sticking, remove gel from the bottleneck with N.A.S. 99 before recapping the bottle.
Step 1: Base Coat

  • After properly shaking the bottle, apply a thin coat of Base Coat
  • Cap the free edges and cure for 30 seconds

Step 2: GelColor

  • After properly shaking the bottle, apply a thin coat of GelColor (the 2nd coat will provide true color coverage)
  • Cap the free edges and cure for 30 seconds
  • Repeat the application and cure again

Step 3: Artist Series Design Gel

  • Stir contents, if needed
  • Use a brush to create designs
  • Cure 30 seconds

Step 4: Top Coat

  • After properly shaking the bottle, apply a thin coat of Top Coat
  • Cap the free edges and cure for 30 seconds
  • Remove gel residue with N.A.S. 99 and finish off with Avoplex Oil and Lotion.

Removal
Removing OPI Artist Series Design Gels follows the same process as removing OPI GelColor.
Steps:

  • Saturate an Expert Touch Removal Wrap pad with Expert Touch Lacquer Remover
  • Place the pad over the gel and wrap finger
  • Cover hands with Expert Touch Salon Mitts and terry towels
  • Leave on for at least 15 minutes (if necessary, resaturate and rewrap)
  • Gently push off gel with Reusable Cuticle Stick

Pro Tip: Do not force or pull gel away from nail or use metal implements/electric drill to remove product. It can cause damage to the nail beds.

How To Make A Perfect OPI Gel Color Application?

  • Preparation
    1. Prepare the nail by using an orangewood stick to push the cuticles back for a clean application of gel
    2. Shape your nails to your style with a natural nail filer (150 grit or higher)
    3. Prepare the natural nail by gently removing the shine using a buffer... lightly buff it to rough up the nail beds
    4. Remove the oils and dust on your nail by using nail cleanser
  • OPI Gelcolor Application
    1. Roll the gelcolor bottle in your hands to mix the contents. Apply a thin even layer of Gel color Base Coat onto your nail.
    2. Place your hand in an LED Lamp and cure for 10 seconds or UV Lamp and cure for 1 minute. The top coat will remain tacky/sticky, but this is normal of any soak off gel polish.
    3. Roll the Gelcolor bottle in your hands to mix the contents) Apply a thin even layer of Gelcolor Color coat to your nail. Don't forget to cap the nail edges to create a seal. Make sure you remove any Gelcolor from the skin prior to curing.
    4. Place your hand in an LED Lamp and cure for 20 seconds or UV Lamp and cure for 2 minutes.
    5. Apply a second coat of Gelcolor color to the nail.
    6. Place your hand in an LED Lamp and cure for 20 seconds or UV Lamp and cure for 2 minutes.
    7. Apply a thin even layer of Gelcolor Top Coat onto your nail. The top coat creates a high shine while protecting the gel layers below it from damage. Don't forget to cap the nail edges to create a seal.
    8. Place your hand in an LED Lamp and cure for 20 seconds or UV Lamp and cure for 2 minutes.
    9. Use a liberal amount of alcohol (99%) or gel cleanser with a lint-free pad to remove the tacky/sticky residue from your nail.
